Book I
“As we come to the Witch Blood Lore, and being Witch wasn’t complicated enough.
The occasional unfortunate discovery that some of the old ways could be written in blood hasn’t really helped! “
The various lores placed in these pages don’t, as some may think, exist only to live, take and breathe all things Witch. Often there’s a commonality that flows through many streams, something that can be seen and drunk to quench the thirst of more than just the Witch kind of being. The following chronicle is an example.
Story & Truth
This is a chronicle of how the understanding of Story and Truth crosses paths upon the outer roads, and how the dwellings of mankind are usually closed to that which few welcome. It’s a remembrance to be approached in three distinct movements:
The First: The Rejection of the Wet;
The Middle: The Feast of the Blind; and
The Last: The Unveiling of the Names.
THE PREFACE OF THE WHISPER
Let’s consider that which is so often declared non-existent.
There’s a memory of a young fellow asking a simple question: “Are there really people that are witches?”
The response came from a learned person of great esteem, and not a little self-importance, who spoke with supreme confidence: “No, of course not. It’s just plain foolishness by ignorant, superstitious fools.”
Yet, having been told clearly and with absolute certainty that such things don’t exist, a strange thing occurred. A whispering bypassed the intellect and drifted into the ear, posing a quiet counter-question: “I wonder where they’ve all gone?”
Perhaps that very question can be answered not by rigid declarations, but by listening to this ancient tale.
THE REJECTION OF THE WET
